Great Tips for Golfing in Hot Weather

Golfing in hot weather is no joke

????

Golfing in hot weather can be a blast, but it’s important to be prepared for the heat. There are a variety of ways to be prep for it, and thankfully, The World’s First Sleeveless Men’s Polo‘s got your back. We put together a guide on how to beat the heat on the course, stay cool, and have a great time while you shoot triple digits (don’t lie to us).

Hydrate

When playing golf in hot weather, it’s important to drink water and stay hydrated.

I know, I know…you’re thinking to yourself- “I drink plenty of beer…i mean fluids on the course.” We get it. We do too, but you gotta mix in some water here and there.

Dehydration can happen to anyone. Here are four ways to stay hydrated while golfing in hot weather:

1. Drink plenty of water before, during, and after the round.

2. Stay well-hydrated by drinking lots of fluids other than just water, such as sports drinks.

3. Avoid alcohol, which will dehydrate you more quickly. (editors note: This is the official response, but that’s no fun…just moderate your intake)

4. Avoid caffeine, which can also dehydrate you.

The best way to avoid dehydration is to listen to your body and stay consistent with your fluid intake. If you’re feeling thirsty, drink several glasses of water or a sports drink. And make sure you’re prepared on the golf course: Bring a full water bottle and make sure to keep it topped off…and a 12 pack of nooners.

Sunscreen

This doesn’t apply to golf. We just think it’s still funny. We also lost money from our Meta stock. F**k you, Zuck.

When you’re golfing, it’s important to remember that the sun can still be harmful even when the weather seems mild. Wear sunscreen, cover up, and stay out of the direct sunlight when you’re golfing to avoid any potential UV damage.

If you’re planning on golfing in the morning, be sure to wear sunscreen early in the day if the weather is expected to be sunny. Don’t be afraid to wear a hat and/or sunglasses to protect you from the sun even further too.

Wear a Brolo

Isn’t this obvious? Golf is changing, your golf clothes should change too. There’s nothing cooler, more comfortable, and better looking than a Brolo. When other people are sweating like a pig in their traditional polo’s, the World’s First Sleeveless Men’s Polo will have you feeling great on a hot day. If you’re ready to prep for the hot summer sun, get yours today.

While we love all of our styles, we believe our Special Edition Brolo’s are better in the heat due to the thinner fabric, but our Classic Brolo’s will also keep you cooler than traditional golf shirt’s.

We’ve gotten great feedback from golfers in Alabama, Texas, Florida, and other states with hot weather and they love wearing the Brolo on a hot day. We know you will too!

Wear the right fabric

The type of fabric you wear out on the course greatly effects your body temperature and comfort. Make sure you choose loose fitting, thin, moisture wicking, and breathable fabrics for your golf polo (like the Brolo) to keep you more comfortable on the course. The only thing that should make you feel uncomfortable is that 5 footer for birdie, not your clothes.

Polyester and poly/Spandex will work a lot better than traditional cotton in hot weather due to the breathability and moisture wicking profiles. Additionally, make sure you wear lighter shorts or pants as well.

Wear lighter colors

Bonus: Chicks dig the Brolo too.

Wearing darker colored clothes on a hot summer day is not a wise idea if you want to keep cool outside. Dark colors absorb the suns heat and will make you significantly hotter and more uncomfortable than wearing light colors.

When you play a round outside on a hot summer day, the best colors to wear are lighter colors that reflect the sun and keep you cooler, longer. Whites, light greys, baby blues, and other light colors will help reflect the sun and keep you cooler playing under the hot sun.

Listen to your body

Overall, the most important thing to pay attention to when it comes to golfing in the hot weather is to listen to your body. You’ll know whether it’s time to grab a bottle of water or shotgun a coors light.

There’s nothing better than playing golf with your friends on a hot summer’s day. Just make sure you take the right steps to limit your sun exposure, and to keep cool and look good doing it!
